Trees with Imagination

Welcome to my site!

The Sherwood Forest tree paintings were inspired by photographs taken on a walk on a dark New Year's Day. Amoung the younger trees are also a great number of venerable oaks - some of the oldest in Europe; the huge Major Oak is said to have sheltered Robin Hood [unlikely, as it would have been little more than a sapling in the 12th-13th century]. Some of these still have a considerable canopy, but others are sparse and slowly dying back, whilst others again are little more than stumps, albeit sometimes up to 20 feet tall.
The light was very poor, but photos still managed to capture the shapes, and suggestions of colour. The latter could be exaggerated, and imagination supplied the rest!

I’m very impressed - you’ve come a long way since the days of learning to switch on a computer :O) Sadly working for IBM doesn’t give me any pocket money otherwise I’d have bought them ALL!!! Will speak soon. Sam

Good for you Kezia. Very enterprising, and the pictures are marvellous. Brava for starting a Facebook page. I am on Facebook as lale Armstrong, but like the TV, barely know how to turn it on, make it work. Hope you and Duncan are well. LL
