On the whole commissions have not been a part of my work, but there have been a few occasions when I've been flattered to have been asked to do one, and I have enjoyed doing something outside my usual box.

My original painting, number 1, of this Russian Cathedral was for sale in a gallery and somehow there was a muddle and it was promised to two different clients. I was asked if I could paint another which I did, making just small changes to ensure that each was an 'original'. I'm glad to say both clients pronounced themselves satisfied and happy.

I had a very similar painting to this of my grandsons which was seen by two clients at an Open House. It was not for sale, but they asked me if I could do something similar showing their own grandchildren. I used their photos, had a happy time doing it, and enjoyed their pleasure with the result.
'Two for Joy' refers to both the children and the magpies!

As you can see, my style is not very consistent and varies quite a lot from one picture to the next.
I really like to be given a subject to explore, mull over, and discuss. The big problem is trying to match the desired image in your head to that in mine - and to the artwork I can produce in the studio. If you have photos or pictures of what you are aiming for they could be a help, and I would also discuss what colours you might like.
If you don't live too far away it would be good to meet in person, or we could exchange images online.
Prices for a commissioned work would be about 15-20% percent more than shown here for a similar size.
eg. for work on the 'recent' or 'older' pages £630 to £660
for work on the 'smaller' page £320 to £340
We would also need to discuss a deposit, availability, timescale, possible revisions and shipping.
NB. If it became obvious early on that our respective mental images were not going to coincide, I would be happy to abort the project with no expense or hard feelings!
