An acrylic painting of fungi in brilliant colours; the scarlet-based cup of the foremost one looks almost 3-dimensional, and in the background is another that has shed its spores and is breaking up into a tessellated pattern of blues and browns.
The background colours symbolize the dark depths where the microrhyzomes spread and the light above where we see the fruiting bodies - the 'mushrooms' and 'toadstools'.
This is one of three paintings I have made celebrating fungi - I don't think it will be the last!
Autumn Fungi. [first of two pictures of fungi]. 2022
Most of my paintings are acrylic on paper or board, and, unless otherwise stated, will be sent unframed either rolled in a secure tube or mounted in a white or cream mount 5-6cm wide, with mountboard backing to protect it in the post. It can easily be detached from this to be re-mounted or framed as you wish.
I have not so far been asked to accept a return, and paintings are quite easily damaged unless carefully packed, but if you are not happy with your purchase, I am willing to discuss it.
