A species of tropical bird with ‘prehistoric’ features found in Amazonian swamps. Chicks have primitive claws on their wings and if threatened will flop into the water, where they swim well and can clamber back up another tree to safety. Their digestive systems can ferment plant matter, causing them to give off a foul smell   - 'Stink birds'.
An acrylic and  mixed media painting where I used clingfilm, grasses, and skeleton leaves to make organic background shapes, some of which lower down I developed into imaginary  fishes. The birds were painted onto the background towards the end.
