A Lovely Rotten Breakfast,  Two-Tailed Pasha, a fast-flying butterfly from the Mediterranean and North Africa, which is attracted to the sugar and ethanol found in fermenting fruits; flying very fast and powerfully it quickly disappears into bushes and trees when disturbed.

Acrylic on board, starting with abstract background which suggested a tree-like form. Some brighter, roughly circular areas became rotting fruit; the butterfly was sketched in last and then the whole area was reworked in more detail.
