My starting point was a photo of the driftwood 'storytellers chair' on the dunes in North Wales with its silvery-grey wind worn texture. It wouldn't be much of a shelter for a person, but it could offer some to a small animal; I moved it in my imagination to an autumn wood.
I added a half-sleeping fox - physical shelter is not so necessary for him, but camouflage adds another level of security.
Acrylic paint and mediums, dried vegetation, and watercolour pencils on paper.
