Summer evening sitting by open French windows - still too hot out of doors, enjoying the evening light on a copper garden ornament, contrasting its sharp outlines with the diffuse vegetation and the satisfying upward curve of the lawn into the distant trees.
Starting with an abstract background using grasses, acrylic inks, pouring medium, and clingfilm, I continued with watercolour pencils, acrylic inks and paints to draw out the shapes and complete the composition.
